• I love that this book is in third person present it has a lovely narrative tone to it
  • Wait so Nora is Alex and June’s mom right? Or is she the third sibling?
  • Oh I checked silly me, haha. She’s the third member of the trio. I hope this means we’re getting three books about all of them
  • 16-gay pinning. I’m here for it
  • Let’s be honest here folks… NO ONE hates reads a person’s Wikipedia page I mean Alex is obsessed with Henry—obviously
  • Okay but anyone can see that Alex super likes Henry and just won’t admit it, I mean…
  • All I want is this A+ banter in my life right now. I’m sorry UK friends who said this was a bad representation of British culture and super rude, but the banter is SO GODDAMN GOOD
  • Poor Henry, he’s already jealous and it’s only Nee Year’s Eve RIPPPPPP
  • I really love this questioning straight segment. It’s SO relatable and seriously how I felt… without all the messing around that is.
  • You know———-maybe Liam “I just fooled around with him but am not gay” high school friend stopped talking to Alex bc he thought Alex was being an asshole about messing around and then just vanishing/not doing anything about it.
  • Poor desperate confused Alex is poor desperate and confused
  • Not to be dramatic but I would die for Alex and Henry.
  • I think it would be fascinating to live the kind of life that this entire group of friends (who are incidentally much nicer than the people on FRIENDS) but I seriously cannot imagine having that much confidence. Though watching Henry belt DONT STOP ME NOW would be fabulous—I already enjoy watching people sing at Kareoke
  • Hmmm… email servers—-don’t tell me their romance is going to be exposed that way, because of emails on the government server…
  • I know they have to have some fight or break up but I’m seriously not ready for it and I thought it might happen at Wimbledon and thank god it didn’t .
  • Holy shit, Luna “betrayed” them? No,
  • I wonder when Alex is going to remember his dad and Luna talking at his graduation party and put two and two together
  • So I’m not sure why Ellen AKA mom AKA POTUS has to take him off the campaign? Like seriously? Also it’s hilarious that she thinks her son—who has been in a romance relationship for 7 months—still needs sex Ed. Though I guess there’s still the possibility that they could have BOTH been ignorant of basic safe sex.
  • WHY IS HE USING THE CLEREMONT SERVER FOR HIS GODDAMN EMAILS NOW THAT HES OFF THE CAMPAIGN just make an email called xoxohenry@gmail.com for Christ’s sake
  • I’ve been thinking a lot about Casey Mcquiston’s next book and how it’ll be f/f and who the characters could be and I’m honestly VERY up for JuneXBea but a bit less weird could also be JuneXNora.
  • Childhood friends to lovers YES
  • Henry in Texas is adequately adorable
Okay but this break up is 110 percent horrendous
  • I weep in tragedy. This is a goddamn romance they’ll get back together… but when????
  • I couldn’t take any notes during this part because it was so tragic and then I was so relieved but now that Alex is back in the States and they’re still together and emailing…. WHY IS ALEX STILL USING THE CLAREMONT EMAIL FOR THIS SHIT?
Okay maybe I should have realized that he’s using the White House personal email for this, not his mom’s campaign email. That makes way more sense, but it wasn’t immediately clear.
  • Nora is a goddess, she figured it ALL OUT. So I guess either way it wouldn’t have mattered if he was using his mom’s campaign email instead of the secure email set up for the family of the United States.
  • Okay I love the resolution and I loved Alex’s speech to Texas it made my heart SO happy.
  • 9/10—Now you know how serious I am about this book because I can’t remember the last time I gave a book 9/10. I inhaled this book with great fervor. I am forever a Casey McQuiston fan and I really need to get myself one of those Claremont for American T-shirts.
    • There are a few other things I really adored about this book but I’m saving them for a different post and I’ll link it to this one later.
