• Alright, settle in everyone, this is a long one…
  • Please Universe, let this be a 100 percent consensual sexual encounter, there were no trigger warnings. Also is there any more romantic word than “ease” I think not. It’s so slow. Like giving the other person plenty of time to say “stop” or “that’s enough”
  • “Maybe a movie” THIS IS PRACTICALLY CODE WORD FOR “let’s make out.” Maybe it’s just because I have bad memories of basements and movies…
  • CONSENT IS PRESENT. CAN CONFIRM. JESSEE CAN BE ADORED NOW.
  • I think Morgan Mattson might be just one of the most relatable voices I’ve read in a while.
  • They’re cuddling and she says, “my left arm was getting totally squished against him” UM Yes. This is 100 percent realistic.
  • It’s. THE. Boy. Bill! Like the one we actually care about right? LI #2, how interesting.
  • Rodney is just very adorable okay?
  • Oh, that’s bad news. Embezzling wedding planners cannot be good.
  • Lol, JJ’s old girlfriend was secretly a Scientologist. Flirty Fishing much? Seriously that’s a real tactic, look it up. Not respective to Scientologists though.
  • Wait, their wedding planner is called “Where There’s A Will” and IT’S RUN BY SOMEONE NAMED WILL?? Okay but that’s actually hilarious.
  • “Because there wasn’t really anything I could point to that was wrong. There was just the uneasy feeling that something wasn’t right, which was much harder, somehow, to prove.”
  • OH, but Will is going WITH Charlie to do this errand. How interesting 😏😏
  • PLEASE LET THIS BE A SPRING FLING… Or more.
  • Wait, so the whole almost having sex with Jesse was winter break?? BUT IT’S SPRING BREAK NOW? Why hasn’t she heard anything from him since??
    • I have a bad feeling
  • I love the siblings together, I really do. They have a great dynamic, but they’re being total assholes right now. Danny is largely to blame, but they all could do a better job. And Charlie is seeing this and willfully ignoring it.
  • THIS IS SERIOUSLY LIKE NICK YOUNG FROM CRAZY RICH ASIANS ALL OVER AGAIN. THIS IS DANNY’S FAULT.
  • “I was having to work hard not to stare at everything that was happening around us” OK but it’s me whenever I am videotaped.
  • Charlie and Bill setting up the child’s Australian themed birthday party. I officially like Bill way more than Jesse.
  • They’re being rather cryptic about Mike, the estranged son.
  • Jeez, this is a lot of drama… Even for me. I mean okay, so people are assuming they’re staying with the Grants, no big deal. That’s easily enough fixable.
  • “‘What did I always tell you about sneaking into places?’
‘Frown and walk fast,’ I said.”
This actually makes a lot of sense, like if there was something wrong, you’d be in a hurry to fix it so it. But seriously lots of things have gone wrong at this wedding so far, so hopefully we’ll start getting some solutions.
  • Okay, well I can see both sides of this, but he SPECIFICALLY asked his mom NOT to put it in the comic and then she just. DID.
  • So she now openly acknowledges that Brooke was just alone with absolutely NO ONE else she knows because the Grant family didn’t even both to try and include her. And Charlie just ignores the fact Brooke is looking for her?? She’s actually incredibly mean.
  • I think Siobhan has a point about Charlie. She does drop everything when her family comes into town. I see both sides of this also. Family is family. And Siobhan should understand Charlie doesn’t see them super often. But also I get where Siobhan is coming from.
  • FFS, would someone please stop ignoring Brooke? I’d honestly be so pissed if I was her.
  • DANNY HAS LITERALLY LOST TRACK OF BROOKE. AGAIN. Are you serious dude??? You literally brought her all the way across the country gdi.
  • “What is was like to stand next to someone and know you weren’t registering with them, no in any meaningful way,” (e-book 2289) IDK MAYBE YOU AND BROOKE HAVE MORE IN COMMON THAN YOU THINK.
  • I’m still so skeptical about Jesse Foster and I absolutely ADORE Bill. When are Charlie and Bill going to have more interactions?
  • Can you imagine having such a wild and impulsive brother?? Like Jess from Gilmore Girls in his wild days. I don’t have brothers so idk. And my sister was very practical.
  • Oh, so Bill just so happened to appear next to you huh? 😏😏
  • Well if I was Brooke in this situation, I’d ALSO be calling my sister.
  • Just making sure everything is getting cleaned up okay. SURE JAN SURE.
  • “We don’t need to talk about kid stuff” Oh yeah, that’s what you want to hear someone say to you. “Please stop talking, I just want to have sex with you.”
  • “Just how nice it is to see you again,” okay this line even feels fake to me. I realize I’m kind of on a rampage but ¯\_()_/¯
  • YES I thought Bill was going to be here. I thought he might be setting up stuff. But then I remembered the place he’s staying at is super far away! Midnight chat anyone??
  • Dad jokes, lol. His humor perfectly fits Charlie’s.
  • Okay, going to pick up the suit, can’t be that hard. I don’t hate the extra time with Charlie and Bill. Please let this be more development.
  • Oh man, the suit is… wrong??
  • Lol they take the wrong suit anyway.
  • Good thing he’s so active on social media.
  • Ah, two birds… kind of, with one stone. Surely Rodney’s got something else he can wear. At least they’ve got an officiator now.
  • Hmm… Darkening sky, *maybe* it’ll rain.
  • Wait… now the band is wrong??
  • Literally making drip (coffee) is so simple. How is she bad at it??
  • Okay but is there anything more satisfying than reading about two love interests becoming embarrassed when it’s assumed they’re in a relationship, I THINK NOT.
  • Hmmm… a made up bed in the bedroom? Her parents are getting a divorce then I guess.
  • DANNY IS SCUM BUT AT LEAST HE KNOWS WHAT’S WHAT WITH BILL.
  • Yes, Brooke has been amazingly accommodating and patient up until now.
  • Finally, Charlie sees it in the ~hazy~ light of day.
  • After wedding suit disaster, rehearsal dinner decorations, wedding planner/embezzler, missing/found officiator, wrong band, the tent being set up at the last minute, AND alarms going off?? Linnie? Change her mind?? After this day?? THEY HAD BETTER EFFING SAY YES.
  • Oh please let there not be an… -_-. There’s an objection, because of course there is.
  • OH yes, of course. Because in addition to the one unexpected animal there’s ANOTHER. How could have Max have heard that damn cat from so far away???
  • CAKE NOOOOOO
  • Okay, fine they’re going to get sheet cake from the supermarket… FINE.
  • That dance was so sweet and adorable. Hands down my favorite part so far.
  • Confession time!!
  • Or not?? Ah yes, because what would really make this party more of a party is the cops. ANYTHING ELSE?? HURRICANE? TORNADO? AN EARTHQUAKE SWALLOWS UP THE ENTIRE HOUSE AND ALL THE GUESTS? OH IS THE CENTER OF THE EARTH TOO WARM FOR YOU?
  • Ah, here’s the confirmation then that the divorce is a green-light.
  • I’m so glad she realizes she doesn’t even know him.
  • Don’t apologize for saying ‘no’ that’s totally within your right.
  • This is just too much. I’m so tired.
  • DON OMG, this is the most satisfying part of the book, where Don turns out to be the paper stealer. All along.
  • 3/10-Would maybe recommend, but probably after asking you questions like, “Do you like drama?”, “Do you like excessive plot points?”, or “Do you want to feel tiny bits of rage?” Okay so overall this book was a very firm ‘mediocre’ from me. Too much of it was plot points that moved the characters along. I apologize in advance to the people who liked this book. For me it was so much I felt suffocated. I wanted more time with the family and less time with Charlie running around fixing all the stuff other people were supposed to. It was like the pacing was so rushed it left barely any time for the characters. Anyway, I think I would have liked this more if it was over a 2-week Christmas break, with less things going wrong, and just explored the family dynamics better.
