Top Ten Tuesdays is hosted weekly by The Broke and Bookish and anyone is free to participate! This week’s subject is top ten books about romantic tropes/types. I’m going with most adorable couples for this one! I really just couldn’t decide what subject to choose. At first I thought I’d do a favorite love triangle list, but then I realized that would just be favorite romances in general. So here we are, at most adorable couples. In no particular order…:
- Tessa Gray and Jem Carstairs | The Infernal Devices
The love triangle to end all love triangles because in the end, the fans got both the ships they were vying for. I always shipped Tessa and Jem. I felt like their natures were better for each other and they balanced and complimented each other better. Maybe if I had seen more interactions between Tessa and Will (besides Will sneering or making snide comments at Tessa) I would have liked him more. I’ve never been a fan of the brooding boy with a dark secret.
- Natasha and Daniel | The Sun Is Also A Star
Feeling some of those falls feels finally on my trip to Seattle! I can't wait for this little darling to be published. I loved the pace and writing style more than everything Everything. Have you read either of Nicola Yoon's books? Are you excited for the #EverythingEverythingmovie?? #fall #bookstagram #booklover #thesunisalsoastar #NicolaYoon
THE OTP TO END ALL OTPS, I LOVE logical and realist Natasha and hopeless romantic Daniel. There are very few guys portrayed as romantics in YA, and I loved seeing it in Daniel. They were just the most adorable meet-cute/insta-love. They’re probably one of my favorite modern contemporary couples.
- Cath and Levi | Fangirl
I mean, how can you not love Cath and Levi. They are the two most precious people on the planet. Levi reminds me a lot of my husband, which is probably a reason why I liked Levi so much!
- Jesper Fahey and Wylan Van Eck | Six of Crows duology
I mean, Kaz and Inej yes buttt…. Jesper’s constant teasing and Wylan’s subsequent blushing make for the most light hearted couple in the series. But that’s not to say they are without their problems too (we all know what scene in CK I’m talking about here). Their coming together was so perfect and I love how their relationship changes throughout the series.
- Nix and Kash | The Girl From Everywhere
These are some of my favorite covers (that I have in my possession atm). And half of them are #diversereads! Can you tell I lean towards illustrated covers? ✨✨ What are your favorite covers? Links to most of my reviews for these in bios!! #bookstagram #booklover #ADarkerShadeofMagic #BattleRoyale #OnlyEverYours #Landline #thegirlfromeverywhere #EverythingINeverToldYou
Nix and Kash. Kash and Nix. I think this is a prime example of two people who have no excuse not to be together, but aren’t. You can feel the excitable tension between these two and you know they’re perfect for each other.
- Etta and Nicholas | Passenger duology
Posting late today, but this is my #mostrecent read and it stunned me. I know not everyone liked this, but I must have a thing for time traveling books lately. And the romance between Etta and Nicholas, yes please!! My review is up on my blog too, give it a read!! #janbookstagram #bookstagram #passenger #AlexandraBracken #timetravel #sailing #fantasy #adventure #ya #fiction #books #booklover #bookworm #reading #reader #bookishglee
Although Etta and Nicholas were insta-love, I felt like their banter was so fun and lighthearted. And it wasn’t complete insta-love. I like to think of it as insta-lust; and then they settled down and had a real relationship throughout the book. Plus they’re an inter-racial couple and I want to see that in ALL my books.
- Hana and The Wolf Man (I’m dismayed as I could not find his actual name ANYWHERE) | Wolf Children: Yuki and Ame
Look at that stunning cover. I mean, who wouldn't want to read about this adorable little family and their life in the countryside? Wolf Children: Yuki & Ame was an amazing read (and movie) by talented Mamoru Hosoda #janbookstagram #bookstagram #bookstagramfeature #diversereads #ownvoices #graphicnovel #manga #wolfchildren #books #booklover #bookworm #reader #reading
Hana is one of the most sacrificing mothers in contemporary fiction I know of. There’s not a lot of time with her and her husband, but the little snippets you receive are so touching. Reading many of the scenes seemed like I was intruding on a private moment. It’s hard to describe honestly, just go read it!
- Griffin and Theo | History Is All You Left Me
I can't decide who I ship in this book more (names redacted for spoiler reasons). 😭😭 #febbookstagram #bookstagram #featuremybooks #bookstagramfeature #bookishglee #booksofinstagram #bookphotography #books #booklover #bookworm #bibliophile #bookstagrammer #reader #reader #lgbtqia #diversereads #weneeddiversebooks #diversityreads
The thing I liked most about Griffin and Theo is Silvera really wrote the most inside jokes he could with them. Griffin is a sentimental being, and so everything in Griffin and Theo’s relationship has a meaning and a message. I am Griffin and Griffin is me. And this is why they’re such an adorable couple; there are so many things that remind Griffin of Theo and vice versa.
I just really can’t make it to 10 can I? Well I’m selective, so sue me! What are some of your favorite adorable couples?? Let me know in the comments!
