Top Ten Tuesdays is hosted weekly by The Broke and Bookish and anyone is free to participate! This week is top ten movie freebie. I chose to pick the top ten diverse movies I’d like to see made into movies soon! There were SO many good diverse books this year and in many years past. In addition to more representation in books, it would also be nice to see more representation in movies so here’s my list! Also almost all these books I’ve reviewed on my blog so if you want check out my reviews for them!

  1. The Sun is Also A Star by Nicola Yoon
Everything Everything is already in the filming process and The Sun is Also A Star would be an amazing addition. Staring a Jamaican girl and a Korean boy would be the PERFECT rom-com we all need in our life. If you haven’t read this one, you’re missing out. I’ve read nothing but glowing reviews, and I didn’t disagree. I gave it a similar review.
  2. Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo
I mean, come on, we all want to see Kaz, Inej, Nina, Matthias, Wylan, Jesper and co. hit the big screen, or even the little screen. I mean anything would be so exciting and would be an amazing video to behold.
  3. The Girl From Everywhere by Heidi Heilig
The Girl From Everywhere would give such a sense of adventure on the big screen. I adored this book and I loved how much history was interwoven with the story. I would pay $15.00 to see it in theaters.
  4. Under A Painted Sky by Stacey Lee
I never thought I would be someone who wanted to watch a Western film because I actually think they’re hella boring (don’t tell my family) but Under A Painted Sky IS definitely one I would want to see!
  5. Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet by Jamie Ford
Basically the romance and coming aware story you want to cry yourself to sleep over. These characters were so precious and to see them portrayed on the big screen would definitely have me weeping!
  6. Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng
I mean the family dynamics alone, in this book would be enough to push it over the edge into an amazing movie and it would such a tight drama/mystery movie. Can you imagine the filmography? It would be beautiful.
  7. Orange: The Complete Collection by Ichigo Takano
This is a manga by Takano and I would LOVE to see it made into an anime. It’s relatively short so the anime would be able to go into detail without damaging the integrity and the message of the story. It would be lovely. But I think it would be hard to adapt as a live action movie.
  8. The House of the Scorpion by Nancy Farmer
I think the idea of this book is so interesting, and I did read it a long time ago. But I remember the discussion within the book. I think it’s important to discuss as we delve deeper into science.

Well I was just one shy. And I still am trying to diversify my bookshelf and reading habits. I’ve read more than just these 8 diverse books, but the others I didn’t want, or already have been made into movies so here’s my list! Any diverse books you think should be made into movies? Do you have any rebuttals as to why some of the aforementioned shouldn’t be made into movies? Let me know in the comments below!
